Are you Ready to Rappel for Reading with Over The Edge? Congratulations on meeting your fundraising goal and thank you for helping us get more books into the hands of more children!
Below are the last steps you need to complete to secure your rappel slot and go Over The Edge!
Review
Review important day-of information by clicking the link below. This will include what to wear (yes, you can wear costumes!), where to check-in, and where to park.
Select
Click the link below to reserve your rappel time slot. The slot you reserve is when you plan to arrive at check-in. Your rappel time will be approx. 45 minutes to 1 hour after check in and training.
Sign
If you have not done so already, please electronically sign your waiver. Waivers are required to participate in Over The Edge. If a waiver is not signed electronically, you will be provided a paper copy on event day.
What to Expect on Event Day
CHECK IN
Arrive at Marriott City Center at the time you designated on your sign up. You will rappel one hour after checking in.
Check in at the back of the lobby at the table with the Over The Edge banner.
Free parking is available in the parking garage attached to the hotel or the Ferguson parking garage.
STAGING
After check in and waiver verification, an Over The Edge safety technician will guide you through putting on your equipment and do an inspection.
TRAINING
In training, a safety technician will show you how to use your rappel equipment and have you to hang from a tripod to feel how the equipment works.
RAPPEL
You will rappel approximately one hour after your check in time.
The Over The Edge Site Safety Supervisor will guide you through the rappel process as you descend to the landing zone. You can rappel at your own pace or choose to be lowered down.
24 hours after your rappel, you will receive a link with free photos of your Over The Edge adventure!
